Putnam Town Board adopts flood law, creates compliance officer

NY PUTNAM — Putnam Town Board adopts revised Flood Damage Prevention Local Law for insurance eligibility. The unanimous adoption ensures residents remain eligible for the National Flood Insurance Program under New York State compliance requirements. The Board separately voted 4-1 to create a Compliance Officer and Local Administrator position, with Councilwoman Carole Schneider dissenting.

The town also approved $230,000 in paving work scheduled for June 25 and set a July 15 public hearing on a proposed twelve-month data center moratorium.
